About Us
The Doula Collective of Newfoundland and Labrador is a group of women dedicated to supporting parents before, during and after labour. As doulas, we recognize childbirth as an experience that parents will remember for the rest of their lives and are honoured to be a part of this special event.
The DCNL maintains a code of ethics and unified Standards of Practice to which all member doulas must adhere. These documents outline our commitments to you and your family: safety, legality, and quality care. You can read all the details by clicking the downloads below.

Birth doulas provide non-medical continuous support to parents
during pregnancy, labour, and the immediate postpartum period. We can help with preparation, comfort measures, feeding, bonding, and more!
Postpartum doulas support the new parent(s)
during that precious "settling in" period
after baby arrives. (Usually 6 weeks or so, but contracts may vary.) We can help with infant care, housekeeping, feeding, bonding, and more!
